Artist: Mary Nagel Klein

Born in Madison, Wisconsin in 1958, Mary Nagel Klein has kept a painting studio in Minnetonka since the year 2000. She is primarily a self-educated artist – expressing through her art her love of nature and simplicity. Her works are as much contemplations as they are paintings – inviting the viewer to see anew what was once thought of as common place.  Klein’s paintings are included in many private and public collections – including Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, St. John’s University in Collegeville, and the Eastern Nebraska Veteran’s Home in Bellevue.  Klein was the recipient of a 2009 Artist’s Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.  Among the venues that have exhibited her work are the Birger Sandzén Gallery in Lindsborg, Kansas, the Prince Street Gallery in NYC and the lobby of the Plummer Building on the Mayo Clinic Campus in Rochester.
